Crimenetwork did not die when authorities seized it the first time. It came back on new infrastructure within days, which is the real threat: these marketplaces can reconstitute fast enough to keep serving stolen-data brokers and illicit-service buyers unless operators and infrastructure are both hit.
German authorities shut down the relaunch version and arrested a suspected administrator in Mallorca under a European arrest warrant. The marketplace had operated since 2012, had about 100,000 registered users, and the rebooted site had already drawn 22,000 users and more than 100 vendors before the second takedown.
The point for defenders is that marketplace disruption is temporary unless enforcement reaches the reboot phase. Even after a seizure, the criminal service economy around stolen credentials and resale can keep moving if the replacement site is left alone.
