France’s Interior Ministry said a security incident at ANTS, the National Agency for Secure Documents, was detected on April 15 and may have exposed data from individual and professional accounts. The potentially affected data includes login credentials, names, email addresses, dates of birth, unique account identifiers, and in some cases postal addresses, places of birth, and phone numbers.
The ministry said uploaded documents were not exposed and has not disclosed how many users were affected or how the attack happened. The forward risk is persistence: credentials and identity data can be reused outside ANTS, and the breach adds to a run of recent incidents hitting French public institutions.
