Ilya Angelov pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 24 months in U.S. prison for co-managing a botnet that sold access to compromised machines. That access enabled BitPaymer and other affiliates to infect 72 U.S. companies and generated over $14 million in ransom payments. He was fined $100,000 and ordered to forfeit $1.6 million.
