Ransomware in Europe is no longer just a count of direct victims. The bigger shift is that attackers are now leaning into EU organizations and their suppliers, so a hit on one company can spill into downstream customers that were never the intended target. Black Kite tracked 684 publicly known ransomware attacks across Europe in the first four months of 2026, up 55% from 441 in the same period of 2025. The report says the market is shifting toward Europe and its vendor chains, which means supplier disruption and shared-data exposure now sit inside the threat picture for organizations that depend on European partners.
