The Foschini Group said a cyber incident affecting its TFG London division disrupted Phase Eight, Hobbs and Whistles, with certain IT systems offline and customer orders delayed. The group said stores stayed open, and it has seen no reason so far to think payment information is at risk.
The outage is operational rather than a confirmed data event: TFG has isolated the incident to the affected UK brands while its other British labels, along with its South Africa and Australia operations, were not disrupted. That separation matters because it limited the blast radius even as order handling and back-office work took a hit.
For retailers running shared groups with separate brand systems, the unresolved question is how much of the rest of the portfolio sat outside the same failure path. If the segmentation holds, the lasting exposure is a constrained service outage; if it does not, the same structure can make recovery uneven across brands.
