Breaches · 43 days ago
Spain’s data protection agency, AEPD, said it received a report alleging a breach carried out by an AI agent powered by a known large language model. It is being treated as the first such report the agency has seen.
The important detail is the execution path: if an autonomous agent can read mail, files, or internal apps, it can also move data out through the same access. That makes the breach harder to attribute to a person or a single account, and it blurs what needs to be contained.
For organizations testing LLM agents in government or regulated environments, the exposure sits in the agent’s permissions, not just in the underlying model. The reporting does not say how far the incident reached or whether the allegation has been verified.
