The break is at procurement, not at the device. New foreign-made humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and power inverters may be blocked before they ever reach a project, so the immediate risk is sourcing, cost, and schedule pressure for buyers rather than compromise of installed gear.
The FCC said the ban applies to new imports and cited cybersecurity and other national security concerns. It covers humanoid robots, robot dogs, and power inverters used in renewable energy systems, data centers, and homes, with existing devices left out of the action.
That shifts the security question to vendor provenance and import eligibility. Teams that plan around a specific supplier or country of origin may have to change sourcing before deployment even starts.
