ShinyHunters arrests strain the group’s Telegram workflow
The FBI said it arrested another suspected ShinyHunters co-conspirator in Pennsylvania, adding to several detentions over the last two weeks after the group’s breach of the FBI jobs site. Reporting from The Record and the New York Times says the latest suspect is a Canadian national.
The pattern matters because the arrests are pushing ShinyHunters to consider leaving Telegram, which has been central to how it coordinates and posts stolen-data claims. If that shift happens, the group loses a familiar communications channel and outsiders lose a stable place to watch for its next leak or alias.
For threat intelligence teams, the immediate effect is not the arrest count itself but the operational friction that follows it: a crew under pressure may move faster, fragment its channels, or reappear under new handles. That can slow follow-on leak activity even when some members remain free.
