Fairlife Ransomware Hits Shelf Supply, Not Data

This is an availability problem for retailers first. A ransomware incident has stopped Fairlife’s U.S. production, so the immediate hit is milk and shake supply, not a confirmed data breach or product safety issue.

Coca-Cola said the incident affected a portion of Fairlife’s systems, including production-related systems, and temporarily suspended U.S. operations. Canada is not affected, and the company has not named an actor or confirmed any extortion demand or stolen data. Fairlife runs plants in Michigan, New York, and Arizona and passed $1 billion in retail sales in 2022.
