L’UE e il Regno Unito stanno passando dall’attribuzione alla pressione coordinata su FSB Centre 16, Turla e le reti che ne rendono possibile l’operato: il punto non è un nuovo exploit, ma la capacità di colpire soldi, coperture e intermediari che sostengono campagne di spionaggio e sabotaggio. Per i team che seguono attività state-linked, il segnale è che il perimetro della minaccia si sta spostando anche sul piano legale e finanziario, non solo su quello operativo.
Bruxelles e Londra hanno imposto sanzioni coordinate contro persone ed entità russe legate a una campagna pluriennale di cyber espionage e a recenti attacchi distruttivi in Europa. Le misure citano attività contro governi e infrastrutture critiche in almeno nove Paesi, con riferimento a FSB Centre 16 e ai proxy che ne estendono la capacità d’azione.
Per chi monitora energia, governo, difesa, servizi finanziari e healthcare, la conseguenza è che la disponibilità della rete di supporto di questi attori può cambiare prima ancora della loro tattica. Lo schema resta quello di un ecosistema statale che usa proxy e coperture esterne; ora però quei nodi diventano un bersaglio esplicito della contropressione occidentale.
