Ofcom ha aperto un'indagine su Aylo per capire se la verifica dell'età usata da Pornhub per alcuni utenti iPhone nel Regno Unito sia davvero efficace sotto l'Online Safety Act. Il punto non è Apple, ma la capacità di Aylo di dimostrare che quel segnale è stato implementato e testato correttamente prima di riaprire l'accesso.
Il regolatore sta quindi spostando il baricentro sulla prova di conformità: non basta che il controllo fornito da un terzo esista, serve mostrare che funzioni nel servizio reale e che sia stato rivalutato quando l'accesso è cambiato. Per le piattaforme che dipendono da segnali di età o identità di fornitori esterni nel Regno Unito, il rischio è che la responsabilità cada sull'implementazione e sulla documentazione, non solo sul sistema del vendor.
