Reporter hanno verificato che alcune email nel leak sono autentiche tramite firme crittografiche. L'FBI segnala inoltre che Handala e Homeland Justice usano Telegram come command-and-control per malware che mira a dispositivi Windows per esfiltrare file e acquisire screenshot, prendendo di mira giornalisti, attivisti e dissidenti.
